CTM 2024 Internships

The annual CTM Festival presents a comprehensive overview of outstanding, current international productions of electronic and experimental music in a mixture of concerts, live performances and club events. A supporting program of discussion rounds, workshops, presentations, video screenings and art installations is dedicated to technological, social and artistic issues within music culture. CTM focuses on the artistic aspects of current music production and the social role of music in the context of electronic and digital culture. Our team works on an equal footing with each other and adapts to the strengths and experience of team members to create a good and constantly evolving workflow. In order to get the next festival edition off the ground, we look forward to music and art enthusiastic applicants who are willing to get involved in our team and want to learn how an international yet community-oriented festival comes about.

We are currently looking for interns to support us with festival production and festival administration for the CTM 2024. The CTM 2024 events will take place in the core period from January 26th to February 4th, 2024. Internships span a maximum duration of October 2023 to March 2024. Applications can be sent until 31 July. This call is aimed at students that must complete an internship as part of their degree requirements. Due to the fact that the internship requires a strong command of German, the internship call is provided in German only. If applicants need feedback before September, we ask that you mention this in your cover letter - we will try to do our best to do so.

The CTM – Festival for Adventurous Music and Art is looking for interns for a diverse range of activities in production, organization and administration for the festival edition CTM 2024.

Main responsibilities:

  • Communication with the artists and agencies

  • Support in the creation of overall schedules, production plans and coordination of the festival

  • Support in personnel and budget planning

  • Assistance with travel and hotel bookings

  • Assistance in drafting contracts

  • Assisting in grant applications

  • Artist support during the festival

  • Creation of overviews and lists as a basis for all trades

  • Solicitation of offers and invoice verification

  • Creation of proof of use of subsidies

Essential Qualifications

  • Organizational skills and willingness to communicate

  • Enjoy working with artists

  • Knowledge in the field of event organization and implementation (these are helpful but not a requirement)

  • Very good knowledge of Office (especially Word, Excel) and internet research

  • Confident handling of the German language, as well as good knowledge of English

  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a team

  • structured working

  • Accuracy in gathering and processing information

  • Keen interest in contemporary music, media and visual artsThe applicants should ideally (not necessarily) study culture or event management, culture, music or media sciences or similar or complete an apprenticeship in this field. Studies and training are treated as equal.

The internship offers the opportunity

  • to acquire in-depth knowledge of the various areas of event organization

  • to get an insight into the production processes of a festival

  • for exchange and contact with international artists

  • To obtain knowledge regarding the use of grant funds and their accounting

  • to contribute your own ideas, to develop, expand and implement independence and responsibility in a small team

Remuneration: A monthly remuneration of €450.00 is paid. The workload is on average 4 days a week, full time after Christmas up to and during the festival period.
