Privacytopia - Community Engagement Assistant
Duration: 6+ months (Immediate Opening)
Privacytopia opens the mind for critical discussions over how we as humans and citizens interact and live in a reality where data protection, privacy, artificial intelligence, cyberbullying and fact checking matter as much as cyborgs, robotics and cyber security.
Our Projects
At Privacy Salon you can do internships, volunteering or become a student worker in art curation, communications and supporting production. Depending on the time of the year and the event we have different availabilities with different and specific tasks. Each profile varies over the year depending on the project that needs most of our attention.
Privacy Salon events have always been made possible through the enormous efforts made by volunteers. Are you a privacy aficionado, a data protection addict, fascinated by the intersection of art and science or simply looking for a valuable experience, then you are in the right place.

At Privacy Salon we organise the annual Computer, Privacy and Data Protection Conference (CPDP) in the end of May. We gather academics, lawyers, practitioners, policy-makers, industry and civil society from all over the world in Brussels, offering them an arena to exchange ideas and discuss the latest emerging issues and trends.

The Privacytopia Festival is the newest addition to our event catalogue. Starting in March 2024 we want to open the mind for critical discussions over how we as humans and citizens interact and live in a reality where data protection, privacy, artificial intelligence, cyberbullying and fact checking matter as much as cyborgs, robotics and cyber security. Starting with art but expanding to a truly interdisciplinary environment, Privacytopia debates these topics from very different perspectives for a whole month, through art exhibitions, symposia, workshops, concerts, theatre and much more throughout the city of Gent.

Throughout the year our main project is the Data Art Guide. It is a worldwide mapping of digital art exhibitions in online and offline spaces. It's a free tool to keep you updated about ongoing and upcoming events in the expanding world of artist and art organizations dealing with technology, data usage and its implications on individuals and society.
