The 7th International Triennial Graphics Competition „From Gutenberg Book to Digital Reality” – Gdańsk 2022 is the continuation of the international biennial and triennial competitions held in Gdynia in the years 2008 – 2019. The 7th Triennial Graphics Competition will present contemporary graphics technologies with emphasis on modern digital presentation, including large-format visualisations and on-line transmissions. The global pandemic and the threat of war has forced adopting alternative means of artistic presentation and simultaneously drew attention to the values promoting the reality: WOMAN – FREEDOM – ECOLOGY. These ideas will accompany the 7th International Triennial Graphics Competition.

At the turn of the 21st century, graphics artists began using new visual media technologies to expand this discipline to new digital worlds. Consequently, graphics has become a contemporary form of image and the carrier of information, knowledge and emotions – a substitute for a thought. In this way, the word “solidarity” has become more real: meaning shared responsibility as well as fight for freedom, women’s equality and a clean world. These works have the form of the state-of-the-art, ecological digital solutions – large-format visualisations or artistic works – and constitute art of the highest level.
