Event highlights
In celebration of Data Protection Day (28 January), the Council of Europe (CoE), CPDP, and The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), jointly organized a one-day event on the 25th of January, featuring keynote speeches and panel discussions addressing the protection of individuals' rights to privacy and data protection. The conference aimed to highlight recent developments and challenges in the field of data protection, including global data flows, digital governance, regulation of AI, and the harmonization of GDPR procedures.
This event marked a wonderful occasion to celebrate Data Protection Day at Les Halles de Schaerbeek, a tradition upheld throughout the 17 years of the CPDP Conferences. The Data Protection Day attracted a diverse audience, including international and national policymakers, regulators, academics, computer scientists, legal practitioners, industry representatives, activists, consultants, and tech journalists. The registration for the event reached its limit just a few weeks after it was launched, and we thank each and every person who registered, contributing to the success of the event.
Moving forward, the momentum generated at this event will persist, with more engaging discussions planned for May at the CPDP.ai conferences.
Speaking of traditions, this year, we are establishing a new one, as the CPDP.ai Conferences will take place at a new location: Maison De La Poste.
Registrations for CPDP.ai 2024 are now open!
